Arie Vonk in Ansen

The best finds for posts on this blog are the ones that I stumble upon without looking for it.
This monument I found while driving around the province of Drenthe (Netherlands) last month, depicting Arie Vonk. Vonk was the initiator of "Kunstronde Drenthe", an initiative to promote art in the province of Drenthe (and the accompanying text told me he is a dedicated "alpinopet" [= beret] wearer).
The sculpture is by Cornelius Clay and stands in the small village of Ansen
